The Department has well developed research and consulting programs supported by the institute as well as by a large number of professional agencies. The Department has so far handled a number of research and consultancy projects of Multi - Disciplinary Nature following are some of the projects handled by the development in the area of disaster mitigation.
- Design flood studies of Raj Ghat Dam on River.
- Hydrological Investigation of Mauhbhu Dam.
- Study of sone River Hydrology.
- Hydrologic modeling of flood flows.
- Conjunctive use and groundwater modeling in selected area of sarder sarover command(Gujarat).
- Development of a hydrological watershed simulation model .
- Development of a dynamic flood frequency model.
